Job summary

Interaction Recruitment are seeking a reliable Site Maintenance Assistant to join a Preston factory team. The role covers general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across the site, with hands-on multi-trade tasks and the ability to work independently when required.

Hours are Monday-Thursday 07:00-15:30, Friday 07:00-13:00, with weekly pay and an immediate start. The ideal candidate will have practical maintenance experience and a strong focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in general maintenance, property maintenance, construction or a similar multi-trade role.
• Practical skills across a range of building repairs and maintenance tasks.
• A good understanding of health and safety.
• A reliable, flexible and common-sense approach to problem-solving.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general building maintenance and repairs.
• Basic joinery and plumbing work.
• Minor roofing and guttering repairs.
• Brickwork, pointing, masonry repairs and replacement of bricks.
• Building and demolishing internal walls and structures as required.
• Carrying out general groundworks around the factory.
• Repairing and replacing flooring, including timber, concrete and asphalt.
• Painting, rendering and other general building repairs.
• Sourcing and purchasing materials as required, following company procedures.
• Liaising with external contractors when specialist work is required.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
