Factory Operative

Location: Musselburgh, EH21 6SY
Salary: £12.21 / hour.
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 9am-5pm (30min break) or 9am-5:30pm (1h break)

We are now hiring a Factory Operative to oversee the efficient processing of goods from intake to dispatch.

You will maintain factory cleanliness and ensure goods are ready for dispatch on time.

As our Factory Operative, your responsibilities will include:

1. Preparing pallets for dispatch.
2. Wrapping boxes and reels for dispatch.
3. Retrieving stock for upcoming jobs.
4. Performing stock checks and movements.
5. Making polymer and primer mixes.
6. Intaking goods, inspecting, and recording them.
7. Loading goods and recording outbound items.
8. Coordinating with office staff for scheduling.
9. Managing factory waste and emptying the compactor.
10. Ensuring factory laundry is ready for collection and stored properly.
11. Keeping records of approved and defective products.
12. Using a forklift to move raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods.
13. Maintaining cleanliness of the production area and factory grounds.
14. Monitoring the cleanliness of administrative offices.
15. Restocking factory cleaning stations and bathrooms.
16. Performing basic laboratory tasks.
17. Sorting defective goods.
18. Repairing broken pallets.
19. Assisting on the extrusion line with waste management and pallet opening.
20. This list is not exhaustive; other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a factory operative.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations, including use of protective gear.
• Attention to detail.
• Teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Physical stamina and strength.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
• Forklift license is desirable.
