Job summary

Ryvita, part of the ABF group, seeks a Multi‑Skilled Operative - Extruder Operator at its Poole bakery to own the safe, smooth extrusion process and uphold quality targets. You will follow bakery SOPs and contribute to a high-standards production environment.

After training, you will set up the extruder for recipes, monitor production, perform checks, fix simple faults, and report more complex issues. We offer a bonus scheme, pension contributions, and generous perks.

Responsibilities

Operate extruder to agreed parameters.
Set up extruder for correct recipe and monitor extrusion process.
Conduct checks during extrusion and record paperwork.
Rectify simple extruder faults and report complex faults to Team Leader/Engineering.
Develop understanding of extrusion process to reduce waste.
Follow safety procedures and respond to emergencies.

Job description

We are on the lookout for a Multi‑Skilled Operative - Extruder Operator to join our friendly team at Ryvita. As part of the ABF group, we have ambitious plans for growth over the next 5 years and we need someone with the drive and passion to help us get there. The core focus of this role is to take ownership of the safe, smooth and efficient operation of machinery within the Bakery and to operate equipment within the agreed parameters and Bakery targets. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for responsibility in setting up and operating extruders, producing high quality Crackerbread.

Key Accountabilities

To operate machinery to agreed parameters
To work to Bakery Standard Operating Procedures
To demonstrate Personal Accountability within the site and ensure that all Health, Safety & Environmental requirements are met
To ensure at all times safe working practices or reports unsafe acts or conditions
Responsible for adhering to safe systems of work processes and acting in a safe manner to protect the health and safety of yourself and others at all times
Follow all Quality systems and procedures to ensure our products meet food safety (HACCP), legal and customer requirements as well as maintaining external standards eg BRC, IFS, Femas

Once trained as an Extruder Operator, you will be responsible for the following key accountabilities:

Set up the extruder for the correct recipe and monitor the extrusion process, adjusting the product and baking controls where necessary
Conduct all necessary checks during the extrusion process and record them on relevant paperwork
Rectifying simple extruder operational faults and report more complex faults to Team Leader and Engineering Team
Develop a thorough understanding of the extrusion process and equipment to enhance performance and reduce waste
Follow the safety procedures and respond appropriately to any emergency situations
