Factoring Officer - Public Sector Contract

Job summary

ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation in Barrhead, is seeking a Factoring Officer on an initial 9-week contract, with a rate of c.£21.62/hour PAYE, depending on experience. You will lead the factoring service and ensure compliance with the Property Factors (Scotland) Act 2011 and Code of Conduct.

The role involves supporting the factoring team, owner liaison for maintenance, title deed interpretation, cost apportionment and invoice management, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering factoring services within Local Authority Housing or RSL environments.
• Knowledge of factoring legislation including the Property Factors (Scotland) Act 2011.
• Experience developing and managing a factoring service in social housing.
• Experience delivering a social housing repairs service and policy development.
• Ability to manage, support and mentor staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with Servitor, Housing Management systems and BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver the organisation’s Factoring Service in compliance with legislation.
• Manage day-to-day factoring service delivery and owner liaison for maintenance.
• Process inquiries and complaints per procedures and guidance.
• Develop and maintain factoring procedures and support the team.
• Work with 1200 private owners on repairs and major capital projects.
