Job summary

Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Storekeeper to manage ordering, receipt, issue and safe custody of stores within the hospital’s kitchens and wards. The role requires maintaining HACCP documentation, and ensuring stock accuracy and compliance with safety procedures.

The Storekeeper will liaise with suppliers on sourcing/pricing, perform temperature checks for HACCP compliance, rotate stock FIFO, and contribute to stock takes and safety training as required.

Qualifications

• HACCP Food Safety documentation proficiency
• FIFO rotation and stock control
• COSHH, Fire Safety and Manual Handling compliance
• Mandatory Food Safety training (CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety and Catering)

Responsibilities

• Place orders to predetermined stock levels using various systems and liaise with suppliers on sourcing and pricing
• Receive deliveries and perform initial checks
• Issue stock to Main Kitchen and wards/departments with proper documentation
• Monitor and record all temperatures for HACCP Food Safety Management System
• Assist in stock takes and follow rejection procedures for non-conforming goods
• Rotate goods using First In First Out according to Use by/Best before dates
• Follow duty rosters, Trust policies including COSHH, Fire Safety and Manual Handling
• Attend required Food Safety training and complete mandatory training as needed
• Report accidents/incidents and near misses with relevant documentation
