George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Storekeeper to manage goods reception, stock control and distribution across wards. The role requires reliable daily handling of stock, data entry in the stock system and proactive support to ward staff.

Key tasks include inventory maintenance, order processing, and responding to enquiries while ensuring accuracy and safety in a busy hospital stores environment.

Qualifikationen

• GCSE Math and English at least Grade 4+ or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 2 or demonstrable experience working in a stores environment.
• Desirable NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to operate a computerised stock management system and inventory tools.

Aufgaben

• Receive goods from suppliers/ carriers and unload as required in all weather.
• Check goods received and note discrepancies; input data into stock system or direct non-stock deliveries to end-users.
• Distribute and manage stock, maintain ward top-up system, and compile orders with ward staff.
• Maintain accurate data in the computerised stock management system and ensure up-to-date records.
• Pick, pack and distribute ordered stores to wards/ departments daily; lift and carry loads in cages as needed.
• Handle enquiries from wards/ departments; escalate unresolved issues to the Deputy Materials Manager.
• Process ad hoc orders promptly; advise on alternatives during stock shortages to maintain ward services.
• Assist with stocktaking and keep the stores clean and safe, adhering to Health and Safety procedures.
