Job summary

York College & University Centre is seeking a Facilities Officer to help open/close college buildings, supervise cleaning staff, and support caretaker services. The role involves maintaining safety and security, assisting with minor maintenance, and participating in rosters that include weekend shifts and on‑call duties.

Responsibilities

• Open and close college buildings on a rota.
• Supervise cleaning staff and delegate tasks.
• Assist caretaker/porter services and minor maintenance issues.
• Ensure the college environment is safe and secure for learners and staff.
• Be on the First Aid rota when on duty and on-call escalation rota on a rotating basis.
• Work Saturdays with paid breaks on a 1 in 6 rota.
