Job summary

NRL seeks a Facilities Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer for a Renfrew site-based role with occasional out-of-hours work. This long-term contract offers a potential transition to a permanent position and focuses on safe, efficient operation of complex building services.

You will deliver planned maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC and electrical systems, monitor asset performance, and manage contractors while ensuring statutory compliance and CMMS documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Experience in facilities management, maintenance or building services.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, statutory compliance, and CMMS use.
• Proven contractor management and technical fault-finding capability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and coordinate reactive maintenance activities.
• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, fire detection, water services, BMS, generators, UPS and access control.
• Monitor asset performance, identify faults, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Manage specialist contractors, ensuring permits to work and service standards are upheld.
• Ensure compliance with statutory inspections, certifications and record-keeping.
• Support refurbishment, upgrade and minor works projects including commissioning and handover.
• Maintain CMMS data integrity, asset registers and documentation.
• Promote health, safety, sustainability and continuous improvement across site activities.
