Job summary

AEFM is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Facilities Engineer based in Edinburgh to support a growing portfolio of sites across Scotland and Northern England. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance of commercial, hospitality, retail and corporate environments, with extensive regional travel.

You will perform building fabric repairs, minor installations, refurbishments, and general facilities tasks while maintaining high standards and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Facilities maintenance or building services experience.
• Strong building fabric maintenance capability.
• Basic electrical and plumbing competence.
• Experience working independently across multiple client sites.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Comfortable with regular regional travel and occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across Scotland and Northern England.
• Carry out building fabric repairs, alterations and installations.
• Complete minor refurbishment and improvement projects.
• Undertake basic electrical maintenance and fault finding.
• Carry out plumbing repairs and minor installations.
• Perform carpentry, decorating, ceiling, flooring and door repairs.
• Conduct condition surveys and identify maintenance requirements.
• Support mobilisation, refurbishment and project works.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Maintain records through CAFM systems.
• Represent AEFM professionally and build client relationships.

About the Role

The client is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Facilities Engineer to support a growing portfolio of client sites across Scotland and Northern England. Based in Edinburgh, this role will provide planned and reactive maintenance support to commercial, hospitality, retail and corporate environments throughout the region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining client premises to the highest standards, delivering building fabric repairs, minor installations, refurbishment works and general facilities maintenance activities. This role will suit an individual who enjoys a varied workload, extensive regional travel and the challenge of supporting diverse client estates.

Key Responsibilities

• 18th Edition.
• IPAF and PASMA.
• CSCS Card.
• Mechanical, Building Services or Facilities qualification.
