Job summary

IWFM is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day operation of a busy site in Leicester. This permanent role combines facilities management, health and safety, team leadership, contractor oversight and excellent customer service.

You will manage a small facilities team, ensure statutory compliance and drive maintenance programmes while coordinating contractors and budgets. A hands‑on, practical approach is essential for success in this busy environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing a small facilities team.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, risk assessments and compliance.
• Experience managing contractors, suppliers and facilities contracts.
• Experience budgeting and monitoring expenditure.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Organised, with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support a small facilities team, including training, 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Ensure site health, safety and statutory compliance across activities.
• Oversee risk assessments, audits and health and safety procedures.
• Manage building maintenance and preventative maintenance programmes.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers and facilities contracts.
• Monitor service levels and ensure work meets agreed standards.
• Support maintenance, refurbishment and improvement projects.
• Budget and expenditure oversight for facilities operations.
• Coordinate room bookings and space set-ups.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve facilities queries promptly.
• Act as point of contact for escalated issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors and suppliers for smooth site operation.
