CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Facilities Manager to join our team in Brighton.

Purpose of the Job

Providing leadership, management, and development of a defined contract, ensuring financial and operational commitments are met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership and ensure that contractual commitments are met and exceeded.
  2. Ensure business policies and processes are effectively communicated and implemented within the contract.
  3. Ensure the provision of a healthy and safe working environment in accordance with clients and company health and safety policies, and that CBRE services and subcontractors adhere to these policies.
  4. Play an active role as a change agent, driving hospitality-led FM through the service delivery model.
  5. Ensure contracts are staffed by fully competent teams, with effective succession planning in place.
  6. Ensure site health and safety standards are met and upheld by all teams.
  7. Collaborate with other operational managers to develop the business, foster effective teamwork, and support colleagues.
  8. Develop financial plans for cost management, reduction of WIP, debt, and contract growth, ensuring these targets are met and exceeded.
  9. Implement control systems to meet statutory, policy, and contractual commitments.
  10. Maintain a customer-focused approach in all operational activities and build effective relationships with key client contacts.
  11. Promote and uphold the core values of CBRE.
  12. Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to deliver best practices in staff selection, training, assessment, and recognition/reward.
  13. Communicate effectively through advice, reviews, leadership, and contributions to meetings, reports, and publications.
  14. Create a learning environment with appropriate training and development plans, ensuring employees are competent and reaching their potential.
Accountabilities
  • Reporting to the Campus General Manager.
  • Accountable to CBRE functional heads as appropriate.
  • Day-to-day accountability to relevant client contacts.
  • Line management responsibility for a contract team and indirectly for relevant subcontractors.
  • Financial responsibility for the contract's cost commitments.
Person Specification
Education

A good basic education is essential, including GCSEs in English and Maths (grades A-C). Professional trade qualifications and leadership experience are preferred. IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification is required.

Experience

Experience working within M&E building maintenance. Demonstrated understanding of current health & safety standards and management experience.

Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • IT literacy: Word, Excel, Outlook, client online systems.
  • Report writing skills.
