Job summary

Sodexo Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead Soft FM services while partnering with the Hard FM team. You will ensure safe, compliant and efficient delivery, driving quality and cost-effectiveness across facilities operations on site.

Ideal candidates will have FM experience, strong leadership, budgeting skills and excellent stakeholder communication. NEBOSH and ISO Internal Auditor familiarity are desirable as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of high-quality Soft FM services and collaborate with Hard FM teams.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, COSHH, fire safety and statutory regulations.
• build relationships with clients, stakeholders and service reviews.
• Monitor financial performance and drive cost-effective improvements.
• Oversee contractor management and quality assurance processes.
• Identify process improvements and ensure timely, safe operations.

Join Sodexo as a Facilities Manager in Birmingham , where you’ll take the lead in delivering high-quality Soft Facilities Management services while working closely with the Hard FM team to ensure the site runs smoothly. You’ll play a key role in ensuring all facilities services are delivered safely, efficiently and cost-effectively, maintaining the highest standards of compliance, service quality and operational excellence.

What you'll do:

• Ensure compliance with all Sodexo and client policies, statutory regulations and safe working practices, including health and safety, hygiene, fire safety and COSHH, identifying and reporting workplace hazards.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders at all levels, attending service reviews and meetings as required.
• Monitor financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement and develop action plans to achieve operational and financial targets.
• Oversee the quality, progress and delivery of works, ensuring issues are identified promptly, risks are managed effectively and appropriate corrective action is taken.
• Review and improve operational processes, evaluating alternative ways of working and recommending solutions that deliver the best outcomes within agreed constraints.
• Maintain quality assurance standards through regular audits, ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and oversee the safe and effective management of third-party contractors

What you bring:

• Previous experience in Facilities Management, ideally across both Soft and Hard FM services.
• Proven experience managing teams, with strong leadership, motivational, coaching and training skills to develop individual and team performance.
• Financially astute, with experience managing budgets and monitoring financial performance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, customers, colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
• NEBOSH qualification, risk assessment certification and ISO Standards Internal Auditor experience are desirable.
• Experience as an Authorising Person within a relevant technical discipline and a strong understanding of Hard FM services would be advantageous.
