Job summary

Sodexo in Birmingham is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead Soft FM services and collaborate with the Hard FM team to keep the site running smoothly. You’ll ensure safe, compliant operations and drive cost-effective service delivery.

You will manage teams, monitor budgets, and drive improvements through audits and performance reviews, while maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders and upholding ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in Facilities Management, preferably Soft and Hard FM.
• Proven leadership and coaching skills to develop team performance.
• Financial acumen with budgets and financial performance monitoring.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Sodexo and client policies, regulations and safety practices.
• Build relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders at all levels.
• Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee quality, progress and delivery of works with risk management.
• Review and improve operational processes to deliver best outcomes.
• Maintain QA standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage contractors.

Join Sodexo as a Facilities Manager in Birmingham , where you'll take the lead in delivering high-quality Soft Facilities Management services while working closely with the Hard FM team to ensure the site runs smoothly. You'll play a key role in ensuring all facilities services are delivered safely, efficiently and cost-effectively, maintaining the highest standards of compliance, service quality and operational excellence.

What you'll do:

• Ensure compliance with all Sodexo and client policies, statutory regulations and safe working practices, including health and safety, hygiene, fire safety and COSHH, identifying and reporting workplace hazards.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders at all levels, attending service reviews and meetings as required.
• Monitor financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement and develop action plans to achieve operational and financial targets.
• Oversee the quality, progress and delivery of works, ensuring issues are identified promptly, risks are managed effectively and appropriate corrective action is taken.
• Review and improve operational processes, evaluating alternative ways of working and recommending solutions that deliver the best outcomes within agreed constraints.
• Maintain quality assurance standards through regular audits, ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and oversee the safe and effective management of third-party contractors

What you bring:

• Previous experience in Facilities Management, ideally across both Soft and Hard FM services.
• Proven experience managing teams, with strong leadership, motivational, coaching and training skills to develop individual and team performance.
• Financially astute, with experience managing budgets and monitoring financial performance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, customers, colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
• NEBOSH qualification, risk assessment certification and ISO Standards Internal Auditor experience are desirable.
• Experience as an Authorising Person within a relevant technical discipline and a strong understanding of Hard FM services would be advantageous.
