Job summary

YMCA Fairthorne Group is seeking a practical caretaker/maintenance operative to support its safe, welcoming estate across Hampshire and surrounding areas. You will perform reactive and planned maintenance, assist with health and safety compliance, maintain grounds, and help ensure properties meet statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Caretaking, facilities or maintenance experience.
• General building and grounds maintenance knowledge.
• Strong health and safety awareness and practices.
• Full UK driving licence; willingness to travel between YMCA sites.
• First Aid at Work desirable; IOSH/NEBOSH advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Undertake day-to-day maintenance across YMCA properties.
• Respond promptly to maintenance defects and repair requests.
• Maintain stocks of maintenance supplies and tools.
• Set up rooms and facilities for events and bookings.
• Carry out planned maintenance and safety checks under guidance.
