Job summary

Smart Managed Solutions is seeking a General Maintenance Operative for a Reading contract, Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00 or 07:00-16:00. You will support the engineering team with routine and reactive maintenance to keep facilities running smoothly.

You’ll carry out painting, decorating, minor plumbing and general DIY, while maintaining records and delivering quality customer service on site.

Qualifications

Formally trained in an engineering discipline to City and Guilds or the equivalent NVQ Level 1.
Experience performing routine maintenance tasks and reactive repairs.
Willingness to learn and develop skills across tasks and safety practices.

Responsibilities

Carry out routine and reactive maintenance tasks in line with Service Level Agreements, including carpentry, painting, decorating, general DIY, lamp and tube replacements, and cleaning of lighting diffusers.
Safely load, unload, and store stock, equipment, spares, and deliveries.
Support the engineering team with planned and reactive works meeting service levels and customer expectations.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive maintenance records and build strong working relationships with clients and staff.
Promote a safe, healthy working environment and comply with company policies.
Commit to ongoing personal development and learning to maintain competence across all tasks.
