Job summary

Smart Managed Solutions is seeking a General Maintenance Operative for a Reading contract, Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00 or 07:00-16:00. You will work with the engineering team to carry out routine maintenance, reactive repairs and basic DIY to keep facilities in top condition.

You will maintain accurate records, follow service level agreements, and promote a safe working environment while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out routine maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to follow SLAs and maintain records.
• Willingness to learn and comply with safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and reactive maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting and general DIY to meet SLAs.
• Safely load, unload, and store stock, equipment, and deliveries.
• Support engineering team with planned and reactive works and maintain accurate records.
• Promote a safe, healthy working environment and comply with all policies and maintain professional image.
• Commit to ongoing personal development to maintain competence across tasks.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a General Maintenance Operative to work on an exciting contract in Reading. This is a Monday-Friday position working 08:00-17:00/ 07:00-16:00.

Purpose:

As a General Maintenance Operative, you will help ensure facilities operate smoothly and meet service level expectations. You will carry out routine maintenance and reactive repairs including painting, decorating, minor plumbing, and general DIY.

You will work with the engineering team to deliver planned and reactive tasks, maintain accurate records, and uphold a safe environment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine and reactive maintenance tasks in line with Service Level Agreements, including carpentry, painting, decorating, general DIY, lamp and tube replacements, and cleaning of lighting diffusers, to maintain service levels and an attractive environment
• Safely load, unload, and store stock, equipment, spares, and deliveries
• Supporting the Smart Managed Solutions engineering team with planned and reactive works that meet or exceed service levels and customer expectations
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive maintenance records and build strong working relationships with Smart Managed Solutions and client staff
• Promote a safe, healthy working environment and comply with all company and client policies, presenting a professional image and deliver excellent customer service
• Commit to ongoing personal development and learning to maintain competence across all tasks

Education and Training:

• Formally trained in an engineering discipline toCity and Guilds or the equivalent NVQ Level 1 and Building Services Maintenance (desirable)
