Job summary

Total Facilities Recruitment Limited is seeking an mechanically biased engineer to join a leading UK maintenance contractor in Reading. You will perform scheduled PPM and reactive maintenance on building plant and systems, respond to BMS alarms, and ensure compliance with L8 standards for cooling and water systems.

You will also manage spare parts, maintain accurate records, and supervise subcontractors while following safe working practices and site procedures.

Qualifications

Experience with planned and reactive maintenance on building services.
Ability to diagnose faults in mechanical and electrical plant.
Ability to carry out repairs and ensure equipment availability.
Knowledge of health and safety and site procedures.

Responsibilities

Carry out scheduled PPM and reactive maintenance on building plant and systems.
Respond to BMS alarms and perform emergency repairs as needed.
Maintain Evaporative Cooling Systems and domestic water systems per L8 standards.
Ensure spares are available and replacement parts are tracked.
Keep maintenance records via task sheets or digital systems.
Prepare and follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments for tasks.
Supervise mechanical subcontractors and ensure compliance with site processes.
