We are currently recruiting for an ambitious Facilities & Maintenance Assistant to join our client in Andover. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance and provided general site facilities repairs.
Facilities & Maintenance Assistant
Roles and Responsibilities
- Carry out general site/factory repairs, upkeep and other jobs to maintain and improve the working area
- Develop knowledge and expertise across a diverse range of equipment, from steam boiler heating systems to hydraulic presses
- Carry out maintenance activities on machinery and electro-mechanical systems
- Take ownership of problem-solving and root cause analysis to help identify faults and prevent recurring issues
- Prioritise and manage workload effectively in line with operational requirements
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, following procedures and keeping work areas safe, clean and organised
- Follow quality and administrative procedures accurately, with strong attention to detail
- Visit both factory sites as required
Ideal Candidate
- Understanding of electro-mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and machinery maintenance
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A sound understanding of Health & Safety regulations and best practice within a machinery or maintenance environment
- A clean, valid driving licence, as travel between the two factory sites will occasionally be required
Qualifications
- City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification
- A good understanding of Health & Safety within a maintenance environment
Working Hours and Benefits
- £30,000 per annum
- 23 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays
