Job summary

Valoris Group in Barking, London is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead in-house engineering and contractor teams, ensuring efficient facilities operations and strong compliance. You’ll drive cost control, service delivery, and regulatory adherence across hard and soft services.

The role involves tendering, contract management, project oversight, and stakeholder coordination, with office-based work and site visits.

Qualifications

• Experience in property, mechanical, electrical, or hard services within a commercial or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of H&S regulations and safe working practices.
• Experience in managing procurement processes, contractor selection, and CDM regulations.
• Familiarity with British Standards, CIBSE guides, and M&E design best practices.
• Ability to assess technical issues and provide cross-project solutions.
• Experience in financial planning, budget management and cost-saving initiatives.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and using asset management & procurement software.
• Confident in stakeholder management with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage an in-house engineering team to support day-to-day facilities functions.
• Advise senior management on facilities management, best practices, and compliance.
• Lead tender processes, contract negotiations, and procurement for maintenance and supplier agreements.
• Review contractor proposals, M&E designs and installation plans to meet requirements.
• Manage budgets, identify cost savings and control spend across service contracts.
• Ensure compliance with safety and building regulations and regulatory changes.
• Oversee fit-outs, refurbishments and infrastructure projects, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Track contractor performance and verify completed work against SLAs.
