Job Description

We are seeking a practical and proactive Facilities Coordinator to ensure the smooth and safe operation of our Ellesmere Port site. Your responsibilities will include organizing and overseeing daily maintenance, ensuring health and safety standards are met, and managing on-site contractors.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure all building services (water, gas, heating) operate safely and efficiently.
  2. Respond to site issues, from minor fixes to arranging professional repairs.
  3. Organize and supervise contractors for repairs and minor works.
  4. Contribute to site improvements through general upkeep and housekeeping projects.
  5. Maintain clear records of all work carried out.
  6. Identify and report health & safety risks, assisting in their resolution.
  7. Ensure all work complies with SGS’s safety, equality, and integrity standards.
Qualifications
  • Good knowledge of building maintenance and services.
  • Hands-on experience with building maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Driving License.
Desirable Skills
  • FLT License.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Basic skills in electrical, plumbing, and joinery.
  • Experience supervising contractors or working in a lab environment.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, BTEC) or equivalent experience.
