School Facilities Manager

Wavetree, Liverpool

Excellent opportunity for someone with an estates or facilities background from a school to join a leading grammar school. This role offers variety, stability, exciting projects, and career development.

The facilities manager will have direct line management responsibility for the Estates Team Coordinator, work closely with service contract leads, and support senior leaders in planning, particularly regarding the entire estate. The role focuses on using best practices to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

The ideal candidate will have estates management, facilities management, or site management experience within an educational setting. Candidates looking to move into a management role are also encouraged to apply.

This position provides long-term stability, variety, development opportunities, and the chance to work in a well-maintained building and grounds.

The Role
  1. Line management responsibility for the Estates Coordinator
  2. Support the Assistant Director of Resources with planning for future development aligned with the School Improvement Plan
  3. Supervise and coordinate work of contractors
  4. Calculate and compare costs for goods or services to achieve value for money
  5. Manage and lead change to minimize disruption to school activities
  6. Plan and coordinate essential services such as energy, security, maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal, and recycling
  7. Ensure estates and cleaning services meet health and safety standards and legislation
  8. Verify that work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and address any deficiencies
The Person
  • Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
  • Experience working in a school environment is essential
  • Experience as an estates manager, site manager, or facilities manager
  • Seeking a permanent role
