Job summary

Reading Borough Council is seeking a Facilities Management Officer to deliver facility services and compliance checks across council buildings in the borough.

You will work in a fast-paced mobile environment, carrying out health & safety checks and basic repairs, while providing excellent customer care to hirers and building users. Inductions for visitors and contractors will also be part of your role, with flexibility for occasional evening/weekend work.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with the public and a strong commitment to excellent customer care.
• Compliance or safety-related experience, including practical experience of carrying out statutory compliance tasks in corporate buildings.
• Ability to undertake basic repairs and maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out compliance and building checks in community centres and council buildings and undertake training as needed.
• Carry out health and safety checks and lead in emergency situations such as first aid.
• Provide inductions to visitors and contractors on site to facilitate safe access and repairs.
• Provide customer care to hirers and building users.
