Peterhouse is seeking a part-time Facilities and Health & Safety Administrator in Cambridge. The role supports the facilities department with admin, financial tasks, records control and monitoring systems, including health & safety administration and risk documentation.

The salary will be in the region of £30,794 to £32,038 pro rata per annum (hours between 30 – 37.5 hours per week and depending on experience)
Peterhouse is the oldest College in Cambridge (founded in 1284) and is among the smallest (currently 280 undergraduates; 176 postgraduates; 43 Fellows).
This is a new role within the facilities department (reporting to the Head of Facilities Management) which has key facilities responsibilities including general administration, financial support, records management and systems monitoring. The post-holder will also carry out key health & safety administration, including compliance recording and reporting activities, and the filing and management of risk assessments and associated documentation.
The postholder will also deal with contractors and property access; together with managing site plans and drawings. The department uses Smartlog to record health and safety issues and training will be given on this. There will be an opportunity to take other formal health & safety training as reasonably relevant for the post.
You will have a proven background in administrative roles, ideally within facilities, maintenance, or operations, together with software proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and be comfortable using facilities/maintenance management software. You will have a proven interest in and, ideally, some experience of health & safety activities in a workplace setting. You will also be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, together with strong attention to detail and be a team player with a willingness to take a flexible approach.
