Job summary

Bimplus in Manchester is seeking an experienced Façade Designer to deliver detailed design solutions for façade and building envelope systems. You will work with Design Managers, Architects, and engineers to ensure compliant, buildable designs that meet project requirements.

This role focuses on façade remediation, curtain walling, and external envelope packages, with collaboration across design meetings and site visits to ensure high standards and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in façade remediation, recladding, curtain walling, cladding, or building envelope projects.
• Strong knowledge of façade systems and construction detailing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Revit experience would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of Building Regulations and façade fire safety requirements.
• Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed design, fabrication, and installation drawings.
• Design and coordinate curtain walling, SFS framing, external wall insulation, and fire remediation solutions.
• Prepare technical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, structural engineers, and suppliers.
• Attend design meetings and site visits as required.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with Building Regulations and industry standards.
• Support value engineering and buildability reviews.
• Assist with technical submissions and design documentation.

We are working with a leading specialist contractor operating across the façade remediation, cladding replacement, fire safety, and building envelope sectors. With a strong pipeline of secured projects across the UK, they deliver both remediation and new-build façade packages on residential, commercial, education, and mixed-use developments.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Façade Designer to join their Manchester team.

The Role

As a Façade Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed design solutions for a variety of façade and building envelope systems. You will work closely with Design Managers, Contracts Managers, Architects, Structural Engineers, and Project Teams to ensure designs are compliant, buildable, and delivered in line with project requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in façade design, cladding remediation, curtain walling, rainscreen systems, and external envelope packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed design, fabrication, and installation drawings.
• Design and coordinate systems including:
• Curtain walling
• SFS framing systems
• External wall insulation and fire remediation solutions
• Prepare technical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, structural engineers, and specialist suppliers.
• Attend design meetings and site visits as required.
• Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and technical requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations, fire safety requirements, and industry standards.
• Support value engineering exercises and buildability reviews.
• Assist with technical submissions, RFIs, and design documentation.
