Job summary

Gael Force Marine Equipment in Inverness is seeking an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our workshops, with a focus on safe working practices and quality fabrication. The role involves reading engineering drawings, tack welding, and performing welds across MIG/MAG, MMA and TIG processes.

Standard hours are 7:00–15:30 Monday to Thursday and 7:00–14:30 on Friday, with potential overtime and occasional site work away from home at short notice.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting and fabricating from engineering drawings.
• Excellent understanding of welding procedures.
• Ability to MIG/MAG, GSFCAW, MMA and/or TIG weld.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Health and safety conscious with ability to work alone or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and ensure materials conform to fabrication drawings on the Fabrication Production Control Form.
• Assist in producing shop floor procedures.
• Tack weld assemblies following procedures and drawings.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and form to drawings.
• Use metal cutting and processing techniques.
• Carry out 100% visual weld inspection per QD 3005.
• Assist at all times in keeping the shop clean, tidy and safe.
