Braintree-based Fabricator/Welder role via Bec Recruitment.co.uk requires experienced MIG welding and fabrication in a production setting. The candidate will read blueprints, use hand and power tools, and fabricate components with precision.

The position is 12-week temp-to-perm with an hourly rate; starting pay up to £10 ph or more as per market; overtime after 40 hours at time-and-a-half. UK-rights to work required. On-site with safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Proven MIG welding and general fabrication experience in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and ability to read blueprints.
• Strong math skills for measurements and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on various metals, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications.
• Fabricate components by cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Read technical drawings and blueprints to determine dimensions and welding requirements.
• Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or structures.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all safety protocols are followed during operations.
• Inspect finished work for quality control, making adjustments as necessary to meet specifications.
• Operate relevant machinery safely and efficiently throughout production cycles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and efficiency. The ideal applicant will possess strong fabrication knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on various metals, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications
• Fabricate components by cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment

Requirements

• Proven experience in MIG welding and general fabrication within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools.
• Strong understanding of welding principles.
• Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Knowledge of assembly processes and ability to interpret technical drawings or blueprints
• Ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
• Good organisational skills with a focus on safety compliance during all tasks
• Previous experience working with Fabrication workshop is highly desirable
• Relevant certifications in welding or fabrication are advantageous but not mandatory
