Job summary

CDM Recruitment Ltd is assisting a well-established fabrication company in Sunderland to find an experienced Fabricator. You will work from drawings, fabricate and assemble steel components, and perform MIG welding on a range of projects for industrial and automotive sectors.

The role requires strong MIG welding skills and the ability to read fabrication drawings with minimal supervision. Overtime is available and long-term permanent work is offered in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural or general fabrication is required.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Strong MIG welding skills (TIG is a bonus but not essential).
• Good attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with workshop tools such as saws, drills, grinders, etc.
• Overhead crane or forklift experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble steelwork from drawings.
• Weld using MIG (TIG optional) and operate standard fabrication equipment.
• Contribute to varied fabrication projects in a workshop environment.

We’re working on behalf of a well-established, family run and growing fabrication company who are looking to expand their team with an experienced Fabricator. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure long-term work with a business known for producing high-quality bespoke fabrications for a variety of sectors.

The Role:

• Plant rooms and skid bases for commercial and industrial use
• Stillages, frames and racking systems for the automotive/Oil&Gas industry
• Custom storage solutions and general fabrication work

Your day-to-day will involve working from drawings to fabricate and assemble steelwork, welding (mainly MIG), and using standard fabrication equipment to produce finished components.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in structural or general fabrication
• Ability to confidently read and interpret fabrication drawings
