Job summary

Generations People in Mansfield is seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator to join a busy engineering workshop. You will fabricate and weld components to technical drawings, operate workshop machinery and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

The role offers £16–£18 per hour, with progression opportunities for skilled welders, and a permanent position within a growing manufacturing business. You will work as part of a supportive team in a hands-on, fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator
• Strong MIG welding skills; TIG advantageous
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Confident using fabrication tools and workshop machinery
• Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Reliable, hardworking, able to work independently or in a team

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld components to technical drawings and specifications
• Carry out MIG/TIG welding to a high standard (depending on skill set)
• Operate workshop machinery, tools and fabrication equipment
• Measure, cut, assemble and finish metalwork accurately
• Work safely and efficiently within a fast-paced workshop environment
• Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow all H&S procedures
• Inspect finished work to ensure quality and accuracy

The Role

We’re recruiting an experienced Welder Fabricator for a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in the Mansfield area. This is a hands‑on role working within a busy fabrication workshop, producing high‑quality welded components to customer and production specifications.

The starting rate is £16 per hour, with the opportunity to increase to £18 per hour based on skill level, experience and welding capability.

• Fabricate and weld components to technical drawings and specifications
• Carry out MIG/TIG welding to a high standard (depending on skill set)
• Operate workshop machinery, tools and fabrication equipment
