Job summary
RNN Group is seeking an Engineering Technician (Fabrication and Welding) to support practical workshops at Rotherham College, delivering hands-on technical services to students and staff. The role emphasizes safety, equipment preparation and collaborative project work within the fabrication area.
You will help develop workshop facilities and work alongside other technicians to improve procedures, with opportunities for professional development and involvement in departmental projects.
Qualifications
- Experience in fabrication and welding in a workshop.
- Level 2 or higher in Fabrication and Welding.
- Level 2 in English and Maths (or willing to undertake).
Responsibilities
- Safe preparation and setting out of equipment and materials for practical work, demonstrations, examinations, and assessments.
- Providing safety cover during practical classes and ensuring workshops and equipment are safe for use.
- Assisting in the construction of apparatus and preparation of materials as detailed by academic staff.
- Distributing tools and consumables to students and maintaining stock records.
- Carrying out routine maintenance on machinery and equipment and keeping workshops clean and safe.
