Job summary

RNN Group is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support Fabrication and Welding training at Rotherham College. The role focuses on hands-on workshop support, safety supervision, and assisting academic staff during practical sessions.

You will help develop and improve facilities across multiple craft areas, while ensuring safe, efficient operations. The post involves collaboration with other technicians and a strong emphasis on maintaining equipment, stock control, and delivering

Qualifications

Industry experience in fabrication and welding environments.
Level 2 or higher qualification in Fabrication and Welding; Level 2 English & Maths or willingness to undertake.
Active team player with a drive to improve workshop environments.

Responsibilities

Prepare and set out equipment and materials for practical work and assessments.
Provide safety cover during practical classes and ensure workshops are safe.
Assist in constructing apparatus and preparing materials as directed by academic staff.
Distribute tools and consumables and manage a stock return system.
Carry out routine maintenance on machinery and keep workshops clean and safe.
Monitor tool levels and order replacements; maintain stock records.
Ensure security of workshops and equipment; report losses/damages.
Attend team meetings and support other departments as required.
