Job summary

RNN Group in Rotherham is seeking an Engineering Technician specialising in Fabrication and Welding. This full-time, year‑round role supports practical workshop delivery and helps maintain safe, efficient facilities used across college programmes.

You will collaborate with academic staff and technicians to prepare equipment, supervise practical sessions, and assist in developing our Fabrication & Welding facilities. Industry experience and a Level 2 qualification are required.

Qualifications

• Proven fabrication and welding industry experience.
• Hold Level 2+ qualification in Fabrication and Welding and Level 2 English/Maths.
• Team-oriented with proactive workshop skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set out equipment and materials for practical work.
• Provide safety cover during practical classes and ensure equipment is safe.
• Assist in constructing apparatus and preparing materials as detailed by academic staff.
• Manage tools, consumables, and stock records.
• Maintain clean, safe workshops and dispose of waste per policy.
• Collaborate with other technicians on departmental projects.
