This role is a NON-TECHNICAL position providing support to the site engineer. The primary responsibilities include handling the daily reactive help desk, monitoring incoming work, and ensuring tasks are completed and closed off. Duties also involve escorting subcontractors, performing minor PPM works, and assisting with routine daily tasks and minor maintenance activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out routine fabric maintenance to meet or exceed expectations and service level agreements.
- Complete all logged reactive tasks to meet or exceed expectations and service level agreements.
- Perform all moves and changes required by the client.
- Undertake painting, decorating, and various DIY tasks to maintain an attractive environment and meet service levels.
- Manage stock loading, unloading, and ensure safe storage of equipment, spares, and deliveries.
- Replace bulbs and tubes, clean lighting diffusers following electrical safety rules and LOTO procedures.
- Assist the engineering team to ensure engineering activities meet service and customer expectations.
- Complete relevant paperwork for PPM, reactive, and breakdown works promptly and pass to the contract administrator.
- Support the site engineer in compiling Water Management System logbooks (training provided if needed).
- Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for tasks, ensuring safe working practices.
- Keep site log books and records up to date where applicable.
- Develop good working relationships with subcontractors and client staff.
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, including wearing PPE and uniform at all times.
- Present a professional image and deliver excellent customer service.
- Maintain fabric and engineering skills through personal development and lifelong learning.
- Keep the handyman and storage areas safe and tidy.
- Assist with routine plant checks as detailed in site log books.
- Keep equipment storage areas clean and organized daily.
- Escort visiting subcontractors, review RAMS, and ensure safe task execution.
- Ensure plant rooms are locked and maintained in a clean condition.
- Complete tasks with appropriate H&S awareness and implementation.
- Support the production of near miss reports, risk assessments, and site activity records, escalating noncompliance as needed.
- Overtime may be available; training provided where necessary.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Good basic education with proficient written and spoken English, and basic mathematics skills.
- Formal training in fabric maintenance, building maintenance, and health & safety.
- Experience in meeting health and safety obligations related to maintenance activities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service-oriented with a calm demeanor, able to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
- Physically capable of carrying tools and components up to 20kg.
- Team player, able to collaborate with the ABM team and client representatives.
- Politically astute and adaptable.
- Energetic, self-motivated, confident, and stable in manner.
- Willing to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and flexible with working patterns.
