Job summary

CBRE, Inc. is seeking a skilled Fabric Technician to join our London team. You will deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services for our clients’ facilities, including reactive and planned works, surveys, and detailed reporting.

You will repair coverings, manage lighting and basic plumbing, and use our PDA system to track tasks and updates. A City & Guilds/NVQ in carpentry, a UK driving licence, and strong customer communication are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds or NVQ in Carpentry
  • UK driving licence
  • COSHH & Health & Safety awareness
  • Experience in fabric/carpentry trades
  • Good communication with clients and colleagues

Responsibilities

  • React to reactive works and complete tasks within agreed timescales
  • Liaise with clients' representatives for clear communication
  • Conduct site surveys; produce reports, method statements & risk assessments
  • Repair/replace floor and wall coverings, ceiling tiles and related works
  • Maintain lighting, lamp and filter changes, and basic plumbing
  • Use PDA system to complete works and updates
  • Complete reactive, PPM and project works promptly
  • Carry out minor projects safely under Health & Safety regulations
  • Demonstrate experience in fabric, carpentry or related trades
  • Paint and decorate where required
  • Experience with fire doors
  • Proven track record in high-profile environments
  • Current UK driving licence
  • Excellent PC skills; quick learner
  • Strong customer relationship and communication skills
  • Ability to read technical drawings and processes
  • Self-motivated, organized with attention to detail
  • Familiar with H&S procedures (COSHH, Working at Heights, Risk Assessments)

Job description

We're seeking a skilled and experienced Fabric Technician to join our team in London. As a Fabric Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' facilities, delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services that exceed their expectations.,

  • Respond to reactive works and ensure maintenance tasks are completed within agreed timescales
  • Liaise with clients' representatives to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure seamless communication
  • Conduct site surveys and produce detailed reports, method statements, and risk assessments for planned works
  • Repair and replace floor and wall coverings, ceiling tiles, and other building and installation works as required
  • Maintain lighting, general lamp changes, filter changes, and basic plumbing requirements
  • Utilize our cutting-edge PDA system to complete works, key communications, and updates
  • Complete reactive, PPM jobs, and projects in a timely manner
  • Undertake minor projects works and ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations
  • Previous experience in fabric, carpentry, or a related trade
  • Painting and decorating experience
  • Experience with fire doors
  • Proven track record of working in high-profile work environments
  • City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in carpentry
  • Current UK driver's license
  • Excellent PC skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong customer relationship skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, instructions, and processes
  • Self-motivated and organized, with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience of H&S procedures and requirements, including COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessment
