Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions seeks a skilled Fabric Technician in London to maintain client facilities, deliver high-quality maintenance and repairs, and support project work. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and effective communication with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have carpentry-related qualifications, painting/decorating experience, and a proven track record in high-profile environments, with a valid UK driving license and strong PC skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience in fabric, carpentry or related trade.
  • Painting and decorating experience.
  • Experience with fire doors.
  • COSHH/Health & Safety awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to reactive works and complete tasks within timescales.
  • Liaise with clients' representatives for excellent service and communication.
  • Conduct site surveys and produce reports, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Repair/replace floor and wall coverings, ceiling tiles, and other works.
  • Maintain lighting, lamp changes, filters, and basic plumbing.
  • Use PDA system to complete works and updates.
  • Complete reactive, PPM jobs and projects
  • Undertake minor projects and ensure safety compliance according to Health & Safety at Work Regulations.

Job description

We're seeking a skilled and experienced Fabric Technician to join our team in London. As a Fabric Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' facilities, delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services that exceed their expectations.,

  • Respond to reactive works and ensure maintenance tasks are completed within agreed timescales
  • Liaise with clients' representatives to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure seamless communication
  • Conduct site surveys and produce detailed reports, method statements, and risk assessments for planned works
  • Repair and replace floor and wall coverings, ceiling tiles, and other building and installation works as required
  • Maintain lighting, general lamp changes, filter changes, and basic plumbing requirements
  • Utilize our cutting-edge PDA system to complete works, key communications, and updates
  • Complete reactive, PPM jobs, and projects in a timely manner
  • Undertake minor projects works and ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations
    Previous experience in fabric, carpentry, or a related trade
  • Painting and decorating experience
  • Experience with fire doors
  • Proven track record of working in high-profile work environments
  • City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in carpentry
  • Current UKL driver's license
  • Excellent PC skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong customer relationship skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, instructions, and processes
  • Self-motivated and organized, with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience of H&S procedures and requirements, including COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessment
