Job summary

Apex Resourcing Solutions Ltd is recruiting a time served Fabric Engineer for a permanent role with a leading UK building services company. The position covers maintenance across Grantham, Newark and Retford stations and involves electrical, plumbing and general building fabric tasks.

You will work on reactive and planned maintenance, with a 1 in 5 on-call rota, a van and fuel card, pension and 21 days’ annual leave. PTS training is provided.

Qualifications

• Time served fabric engineer with a maintenance background.
• Independence and ability to work in a team.
• Experience in mobile engineering/property maintenance.
• Carpentry, plastering and basic plumbing and decorating skills.
• Strong building services knowledge and health and safety understanding.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication.
• Good customer service skills and client liaison.
• Fire alarm tests and emergency light testing knowledge.
• Water temperatures and flushing tasks.

Responsibilities

• To ensure all delegated Reactive Works orders and PPMs are completed within SLA/KPI.
• Keep client, customer and team updated with feedback and progress.
• Contribute to delivering a quality service and customer satisfaction.
• Communicate daily with helpdesk/supervisor regarding task status.
• Adhere to company Health and Safety policy at all times.
• Ensure site logbooks are kept up to date.

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Fabric Engineer on behalf of one of the UK’s leading building services companies.

Established over 40 years, their head office is based in London, and they also have several over offices across the nation. They are known for their services in M&E, FM, Design and Construction.

They are a well-known company with hundreds of employees working for them. They work in a range of sectors including commercial, residential, health and transport.

This is working on a hard FM contract which carries out service and maintenance work to train stations down the East Coast from Edinburgh to Kings Cross. They are responsible for looking after all aspects of building maintenance including electrical, plumbing and building fabric.

This is a permanent position paying £32k - £34k per annum. Van & Fuel Card + Overtime + On call allowance + Pension + 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays etc. Ongoing training provided including PTS (personal trackside safety Sentinel card). The on call rota is 1 week in 5.

The role covers the small works team covering Grantham, Newark and Retford Stations.

Responsibilities

• To ensure all delegated Reactive Works orders and PPM’s are completed within the contract defined time SLA’s & KPI’s.
• Ensure the Client, Customer and Team are ‘kept in the loop’ through feedback and regular updates.
• Contribute to the delivery of a quality service, aiming for 100% satisfaction of the Customer.
• Communicate daily with helpdesk/Supervisor regarding status of PPM and Reactive tasks.
• To ensure the company Health and Safety policy is adhered to.
• Ensure site logbooks are kept up to date.

• Works will include basic plumbing, handy man works including carpentry, plastering, and decorating.
