Job summary

Formula 1 is seeking a Sporting Systems Technician to join the Track Systems team. The role includes installation, deployment and management of the F1 timing data acquisition and communications system at race locations.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager - Sporting Systems, you will install timing loops, beacons and sensors, test hardware, and ensure safe operation in outdoor environments across global destinations.

Qualifications

• Experience fault-finding on electrical/electronic wiring systems.
• Ability to read, understand and work to wiring diagrams and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install timing loops, beacons and track temperature sensors on track surface, including associated safety considerations.
• Install, test and terminate coaxial and data cables for timing data communications.
• Test and verify function of timing data acquisition equipment and related hardware.
• Fault find on basic IT networks and cable systems; compile and publish reports for the department.
• Read, comprehend and work to F1 circuit drawings to setup equipment for a race.
• Configure and monitor data flows using F1 software; report issues to F100 team.
• Travel to various race destinations and work outdoors in diverse environments.
