Job summary

Formula 1 is seeking a Sporting Systems Technician to join the Track Systems team. The role supports installation, deployment and management of the F1 timing data acquisition and communications system at race locations.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager - Sporting Systems, you will install timing loops, beacons, cables and timing decoders, while ensuring safe outdoor work across global venues. Regular travel and hands-on setup are key aspects of the job.

Qualifications

• Fault finding on electrical/electronic wiring systems.
• Reading, understanding and working to wiring diagrams and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install timing loops, beacons and track sensors on the track surface.
• Install and terminate coaxial and data cables for data communications.
• Test and verify timing data acquisition equipment and hardware.
• Fault find on basic IT networks and cable systems.
• Read circuit drawings to setup equipment for races.
• Configure and monitor data using F1 software and report issues.
