Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team seeks a Structural Analysis Engineer to join the Structures group in Brackley. You will contribute to the analysis of metallic and composite components, developing lightweight, high‑performance structures for Formula One, while supporting the lifecycle from concept through track validation.

You will apply Abaqus/HyperWorks for linear analyses, explore non-linear methods, and collaborate with design, aero, vehicle performance and production teams to deliver robust,

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with 2:1 minimum required.
• Experience in structural analysis within motorsport, aerospace, automotive or similar.
• Working knowledge of FEA tools such as Abaqus, HyperWorks, FE-Safe or similar.
• Understanding of metallic and composite materials, structural behaviour and failure mechanisms.
• Experience with linear analysis and interest in developing non-linear analysis capability.
• Ability to interpret analysis results and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience supporting design development, validation or test activities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis of metallic and composite components for lightweight, high-performance solutions.
• Support analysis across the product lifecycle from concept to validation and track support.
• Develop and apply simulation models to aid engineering decisions.
• Collaborate with design, aerodynamics, vehicle performance and production teams.
