Job summary

Alpine Formula One Team in Enstone offers a 1-year Mechanical Design Student Placement starting July 2027. You will support the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for the race car, working closely with experienced design engineers on CAD modelling, validation, and documentation.

You will gain exposure to design for manufacture, performance optimization, and compliance with F1 regulations while contributing to cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently studying a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Motorsport Engineering and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with CAD software.
• Familiarity with design for manufacture and mechanical systems.
• Passion for motorsport and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
• You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role.
• Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in September.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of mechanical components using CAD software.
• Support the preparation of technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
• Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with analysis, manufacturing, and vehicle integration teams to ensure design feasibility and performance.
• Help ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
