Job summary

The Bedford Hotel Belfast is seeking a Food & Beverage Assistant to join our newly opened boutique hotel team in Belfast. You will work within the Bar and Restaurant, delivering exceptional service and maintaining high standards for guests.

Responsibilities include assisting with service, knowing the menu, taking orders, and supporting set-up and close-down, while upholding cleanliness and friendly hospitality across shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in food and beverage within a hospitality setting is preferred.
• Strong customer service standards and guest focus.
• Flexible to work different shifts, including weekends.
• A warm, friendly personality with a can-do attitude.
• Proactive team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day service in Bar and Restaurant to maintain high standards.
• Create a welcoming environment for guests and ensure wellbeing.
• Support in set-up and close-down of Bar & Restaurant operations.
• Know the menu well to answer questions about food and drinks.
• Take orders and relay accurately to kitchen and bar teams.
• Ensure presentation and cleanliness meet hotel standards.
• Maintain hygiene and cash, till, and float procedures.
• Prepare back-of-house points for breakfast, lunch, or dinner as needed.
• Foster professional working relationships across hotel departments.

With 82 beautifully appointed bedrooms, a destination restaurant, café/bar, and exclusive private dining room, The Bedford Hotel Belfast is setting new standards for hospitality in Northern Ireland.

Role Responsibilities

AsaFood & BeverageAssistant,you willbe responsible fortheday-to-dayservicewithin the Bar andRestaurant,ensuring exceptional service standards are delivered andalwaysmaintainedin line with our guest expectations.

• Assistin creating a warm and welcoming environment for our guests.
• Tobe responsible forthe service and wellbeing of our guests.
• Toassistin the set up and closedown of theBar &Restaurant.
• Familiarise yourself with the menu and as much information about the food and beverage offering available in order to answer any questions guests may have.
• Take food and beverage orders and ensure that orders are communicated to the kitchen and bar promptly and accurately.
• Ensure that the preparation and presentation of each section is of a highstandard andis in line with the standards set.
• Maintain a high standard of Restaurant and back of house cleanliness and hygiene practices.
• Ensure all cash, charge, float and till procedures are carried out in line with agreed procedures
• Prepare all back of house service pointswith regard toexpected numbers for breakfast,lunchor dinnerrequirementsas necessary.
• Maintain a professional working relationship with all departments in the hotel.

Key Requirements

• PreviousFood & Beverageexperience, preferably within a hotel environment.
• Excellentcustomer service skills, standards driven, good organisational skills.
• Flexibility – to enjoy working different shift patterns and seeing the operation on different days of the week including the weekends.
• A warm and friendly personality.
