Job summary

St Luke’s CE Primary School in Cannock invites applications for an EYFS Teaching Assistant (Reception) to cover a maternity leave. It is a 30-hour per week role during term time (39 weeks) and is temporary.

The post sits in a Grade 5 pay scale (£26,409-£27,254; pro rata £21,192-£21,875) with start from 2nd November 2026. The successful candidate will support planning, provide a high quality learning environment, liaise with parents and contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant NVQ Level 3 or above qualification.
• Experience within the EYFS phase.
• Motivated and enthusiastic about pupil’s learning.
• Collaborative team player with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and day-to-day provision across the EYFS, working with the Early Years Lead Practitioner's team.
• Provide a high quality, stimulating learning environment and monitor pupil progress.
• Maintain safe, welcoming classrooms and communicate with parents regularly.
