Job summary

Batley Parish CE Primary Academy seeks a temporary Reception Teacher for its Early Years Unit to cover maternity leave, starting November 2026. The role requires warmth, compassion, and a collaborative approach within a Christian ethos.

The successful candidate will teach EYFS, assess progress, and work closely with staff, families and SEND/EAL learners to raise attainment and nurture young learners in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of teaching and assessment practices in EYFS.
• Experience with pupils with SEND and EAL.
• Ability to use data to improve progress and standards.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching in the EYFS Unit.
• Cover maternity leave as part of the early years team.
