Job summary

SANZA Teaching Agency is recruiting a passionate Reception Teacher for a primary school in Southwark. This full-time maternity cover role starts mid-November 2026, offering a supportive Early Years team and an opportunity to provide an outstanding start to children's education.

The successful candidate will lead a well-established Reception class, delivering high-quality EYFS provision and fostering a love of learning during this crucial stage.

Qualifications

• QTS with EYFS/Reception experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Framework.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging EYFS lessons in line with the Early Years Framework
• Create a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment
• Support children's academic, social and emotional development
• Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress
• Build strong relationships with parents and carers
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider Early Years team
• Promote positive behaviour and high expectations for all learners
