Job summary

Reeson Education is recruiting on behalf of a fantastic primary school in Wigan for an EYFS Teaching Assistant to support early learners in their foundational years.

You will work closely with the class teacher to develop literacy, numeracy and social skills, creating a safe, nurturing environment that encourages play-based learning.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an EYFS setting.
• Relevant Level 2 or 3 TA qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Early Years.
• Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and child development principles.
• Strong communication with young children, parents, and the teaching team.
• Caring, patient attitude with a genuine passion for supporting young children.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS lessons.
• Assist with daily care, supervision and emotional support of children in EYFS.
• Work one-on-one and in small groups to foster literacy and numeracy development.
• Help create a safe, stimulating learning environment for EYFS children.
• Assist with planning and preparation of play-based learning activities.
• Monitor and record children’s progress and provide feedback to teachers/parents.
• Foster positive relationships with children to help them feel secure and confident.
