Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate EYFS Teaching Assistants (minimum Level 3) to support pupils in a Newcastle primary school on a full-time basis. You will work 1:1 and in small groups with varied SEN including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and PMLD, delivering targeted interventions.

You will collaborate with Class Teachers to understand different learning needs and styles, support breaktimes and lunchtimes, and contribute to a positive school culture.

Qualifications

• EYFS Level 3 qualification or higher is required.
• Experience working with children in UK schools is necessary.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Resilient, proactive and positive nature.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with varied SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, PMLD).
• Deliver intervention sessions to boost understanding and progress.
• Work with Class Teachers to understand diverse learning needs and styles.
• Support across the school at breaktimes and lunchtimes as required.

Job description

Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistants (minimum level 3 qualified) to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational Primary Schools across Newcastle on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About the Role:

• The role will involve supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The different types of SEN that pupils have may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and PMLD.
• The role will also involve delivering intervention sessions to small groups of pupils to boost their understanding and progress
• A key part of the role will be to develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of different pupils within the classroom, working closely alongside Class Teachers and colleagues to establish this.
• The role will also involve supporting across the School at breaktimes and lunchtimes as required.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

• Pay - Between 88-110 per day
• Hours - 08.30-15:30
• Contract - Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2027. Temporary Contract.
• Start Date - ASAP
• Location - Newcastle

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

• EYFS Level 3 Qualification or Higher
• Experience of working with Children in Schools in the UK
• An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
• A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional references that cover the last two years
