Job summary

Axcis Education is seeking an Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Havering primary school. You will assist pupils across EYFS and KS1 with Autism, speech and language needs, using structure and repetition to aid learning.

Applicants with CACHE Level 2/3 are encouraged; strong practical experience can suffice. This role involves 1:1 and small-group support, transitioning into school routines, and close collaboration with teachers and SENCOs.

Qualifications

• Experience in nursery/EYFS/primary or SEND setting.
• CACHE Level 2 or 3 is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting autism, speech and language or developmental needs.
• Patient, warm and able to build relationships naturally.
• Commit to a full-time, long-term role.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for EYFS and KS1 pupils.
• Support early communication, play and social interaction.
• Help pupils develop phonics, early literacy and numeracy skills.
• Use visual timetables and structured routines (Now & Next boards).
• Assist pupils with transitions and changes to routine.
• Support independence and confidence with teaching staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
