Job summary

Axcis Education is seeking an Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Havering primary school. You will assist pupils across EYFS and KS1 with Autism, speech and language needs, using structure and repetition to aid learning.

Applicants with CACHE Level 2/3 are encouraged; strong practical experience can suffice. This role involves 1:1 and small-group support, transitioning into school routines, and close collaboration with teachers and SENCOs.

Responsibilities

Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Communication – Havering £100–£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Havering

Axcis Education is looking for a nurturing and engaging Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school in Havering, supporting young children with Autism, speech and language needs and developmental delays. This role would be particularly well suited to an experienced Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator or SEND TA who wants to move into a school-based position. You’ll be working closely with pupils who benefit from additional structure, repetition and individual attention, helping them develop their communication, confidence and readiness to learn. Candidates holding a CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification are particularly encouraged to apply, although this is not essential where you have strong practical experience working with young children.

• Are patient, warm and able to build relationships naturally
• Can break activities into small, achievable steps
• Are proactive and comfortable using initiative
• Can commit to a full-time, long-term role

The role is based within a primary school in Havering, with opportunities accessible from Romford, Hornchurch, Rainham, Upminster and surrounding areas. This is a particularly good opportunity for someone currently working in Early Years who wants to take the next step into SEND education, while still using the child-development and relationship-building skills they already have.
