Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Preston is recruiting energetic and compassionate EYFS SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with complex needs in a specialist setting. This role focuses on EYFS and primary-aged learners, requiring hands-on activity and a nurturing approach throughout the school day.

You will work one-to-one and in small groups, assist with communication, sensory and learning activities, and support emotional regulation and independence.

Qualifications

  • Patient, resilient and able to adapt to changing situations.
  • Enjoy a practical, active role and are comfortable being on your feet throughout the day.

Responsibilities

EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are recruiting energetic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support pupils within a specialist SEN school in Preston. This role is focused on EYFS and primary-aged pupils with complex needs and is ideal for individuals who enjoy being active, engaging and hands-on throughout the school day. No two days are the same in this rewarding setting. Staff play a vital role in helping children access learning, develop communication skills and achieve important developmental milestones in a safe and nurturing environment.

The role will involve:
  • Supporting EYFS and primary-aged pupils with a range of complex special educational needs
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support throughout the school day
  • Assisting pupils with communication, sensory and learning activities
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive engagement in learning
  • Encouraging independence and the development of life skills
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals
