Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team on a full-time basis, starting after the October half-term break. You will support children with SEN in a nurturing EYFS setting, helping them access learning and develop independence.

The role involves one-to-one and small-group support, collaboration with the EYFS team, and promoting communication, social, emotional and personal skills. Salary is £14.50 per hour, with pay inclusive of holiday entitlement.

Full-Time | Starting After October Half Term

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team on a full-time basis, starting after the October half-term break.

The successful candidate will provide targeted support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop their independence and reach their full potential within a nurturing EYFS environment.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for children with additional needs.
  • Work closely with the EYFS teaching team to support children’s learning and development.
  • Help children develop their communication, social, emotional and personal skills.
  • Support individual learning and development targets.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote confidence and independence.
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Contribute to observations, assessments and records of children’s progress.
  • Support children throughout the daily EYFS routine, including learning, play and outdoor activities.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Warm, patient and nurturing, with a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Experienced in, or keen to develop their experience of, supporting children with SEN.
  • Able to build trusting relationships and provide consistent support.
  • Calm, resilient and able to respond positively to challenging situations.
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Committed to inclusion and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.
  • Ideally experienced in an EYFS, nursery or school setting.
