Long-term Teachers Ltd is seeking an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND in or around Newton Abbot, Devon. You will work closely with the class teacher to provide nurturing, play-based learning and 1:1 or small-group support.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, school hours, with an emphasis on safeguarding, inclusion and helping children achieve their potential. Experience in EYFS, childcare, or SEN support is desirable, and an immediate start is available for the right

  • Warm, patient and genuinely passionate about working with young children.
  • Experienced in EYFS, childcare, education or SEN support.
  • Confident supporting children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to children within EYFS.
  • Support children with additional needs, including communication, social, emotional and developmental needs.
  • Assist with learning activities, play-based learning and the EYFS curriculum.
  • Encourage children's confidence, independence and social development.
  • Use appropriate strategies and resources to support individual learning needs.
  • Help create a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.
  • Support children's wellbeing, personal care and development where required.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding and the welfare of every child.

EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Newton Abbot, Devon

Contract: Full-time

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Monday–Friday, school hours

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive education setting in or around Newton Abbot. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young children and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide nurturing, personalised support that enables every child to feel safe, included and able to achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to children within EYFS.
  • Support children with additional needs, including communication, social, emotional and developmental needs.
